Create a document

You can upload or import a document, clone a recent document you had created on DocuX, use a template, or start with a blank document.

Upload a document

  • Click on Create new in the main navigation menu documents
  • Select Document from the Create new popup modal documents
  • Click on Upload documents
  • You can now upload a document from your device
  • To upload a file, drag and drop your file in the upload box
  • You can also click on the box to open up your device’s file search.
  • Select the file you wish to upload
  • Once uploaded, the file will open up in the document editor.

  • Accepted file types: DOC / DOCX / TXT
  • Maximum size: 10MB

Import a document from a cloud drive

  • Click on Create new in the main navigation menu documents
  • Select Document from the Create new popup modal documents
  • Click on Upload Templates
  • Click on the cloud drive you wish to import your document from Templates
  • Select the file you wish to import
  • Once imported, the file will open up in the document editor.

Clone recent document

  • Click on Create new in the main navigation menu documents
  • Select Document from the Create new popup modal documents
  • Click on Clone recent document documents
  • You will see a list of documents you have created recently on DocuX.
  • Click on the document you want to clone
  • Click on Start editing
  • A copy of the document will open up in the document editor

You can clone any document you have previously created, not just the most recent ones. To do so:

  • Click on the icon alongside the document listing in the Documents dashboard documents
  • Click on Clone
  • A copy of the document will open up in the document editor

Use template

You can create templates to speed up your document creation process. Learn more about templates on DocuX.

If you want to create a document from an existing template:

  • Click on Create new in the main navigation menu documents
  • Select Document from the Create new popup modal documents
  • Click on Use template documents
  • Select from the templates listed
  • Click on Start editing. The file will open up in the document editor.

Start with a blank document

If you want to start from scratch, creating a new document in DocuX’s document editor is super easy—it looks and feels just like Google Docs or MS Word.

To start with a blank document:

  • Click on Create new in the main navigation menu documents
  • Select Document from the Create new popup modal documents
  • Click on Start with blank document
    documents
  • A new, blank document will open up in the document editor

Limits

Personal plan: Users can create 10 documents every month.

Pro plan: Users on this plan have no limits and can create and eSign an unlimited number of documents.

Team plan: Users with the Admin and eSigner roles have no limits and can create and eSign an unlimited number of documents. Those on the Collaborator role do not have the permission to create or eSign documents.

Enterprise plan: Users with the Admin and eSigner roles have no limits and can create and eSign an unlimited number of documents. Creators do not have the permission to eSign, but can create an unlimited number of documents. Those on the Collaborator role do not have the permission to create or eSign documents.

Questions

Why can’t I see any cloud drives to import my document?

Your company’s admin can restrict what external apps users can use on DocuX. If you don’t see any cloud drives to import documents from, their integration has likely been disabled by your admin.

Can I upload a PDF document?

No. PDF documents cannot be uploaded to the document editor for editing. However, if you need to get it eSigned, you can do so. Learn more about uploading a document for eSign.

Will I lose my formatting if I upload a document to DocuX?

No. DocuX preserves the formatting of the document you upload.
